OG Preview

Paste a URL and see exactly how it will look when shared on X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack and Discord.

Your URL is fetched once by our server to read its public meta tags. Nothing is stored beyond standard request logs.

The first impression of a shared link is its card: image, title, description. Those come from Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags in your page's <head>. When they're missing or malformed, platforms fall back to whatever they can scrape, which is rarely flattering.

This tool fetches your page the way a social crawler does, shows faithful recreations of each platform's card, and flags exactly which tags to fix before you post.

Frequently asked questions

How does this tool fetch my page?

Our server makes a single request to the URL you enter, reads only the page's <head> section, and extracts its meta tags. The page content isn't stored, and we never crawl beyond the one URL you provide.

Why does my preview look different on the actual platform?

Each platform caches link previews aggressively. If you've recently changed your tags, use the platform's own refresh tool (like LinkedIn's Post Inspector) to clear its cache. Our previews are faithful recreations, but platforms occasionally tweak their layouts.

What size should my og:image be?

1200×630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio) is the safe standard for X, Facebook, and LinkedIn large cards. Keep it under about 5 MB and serve it over HTTPS, or platforms will drop it.

Why does the tool say the site couldn't be fetched?

Some sites block automated requests, require login, or sit behind a firewall. If a site returns an error to our server, the same may happen to social platform crawlers, so it's worth checking your bot allowlist for crawlers like Twitterbot and facebookexternalhit.
