What is metadata?

Metadata is hidden information embedded in your files. Photos can contain GPS coordinates revealing where they were taken, your device model, and even your name. PDFs often include author information and editing history. This tool lets you see exactly what's hidden, without uploading your files anywhere.

How do I check if my photo has location data?

Simply drag and drop your photo above. If it contains GPS coordinates, you'll see them in the Location section with a map preview. Most smartphone photos include location data by default unless you've disabled it in your camera settings.

Is this tool private?

Yes. Your files are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. They never leave your device and are never uploaded to any server. We can't see your files, and we don't want to.

Supported file types

Currently supports JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP, TIFF images and PDF documents. Maximum file size is 50MB. More formats coming soon.
